Joining The Voxel Box

Welcome!

The Voxel Box dedicates itself to providing the most dynamic creative play experience that Minecraft can offer. Five thematic Texture Packs provide a wide berth for the imaginations of our talented players.

Thanks for your interest in joining us at The Voxel Box.

It is a sad fact is that being the humble setup that we are (seriously this boat is made from tin cans and string, folks), we do not have the resources to allow each and every player who wishes to visit The Voxel Box to log on on a daily basis while keeping a good work environment for our valued staff and members. We hold Open Server Days for explorers and tourists monthly. Schedule for Open Server Days here.

Daily access at this time is limited to the creative community. If you'd like be able to join any time, you'll need to be approved via a greylist application first. This application allows you to share your past works, express your personality, and give us reasons to accept you onto the server. Membership is limited to the creative community, and a portfolio application is required.

We get around a hundred guest applications every day, so take it seriously, and make yourself stand out from the crowd.

Tips for a Successful Application

• Write complete sentences.
  If your application is too difficult to read, it will be denied.
• Treat web links to your work as required.
  If we can't see your work, we can't approve your application. We suggest that an application have between three and five examples of finished work. Character model statues and pixel art are not considered acceptable submissions. If you have other skills, you may submit links to those examples as well (artwork, music, videos, things you've programmed etc.). If you are submitting a video, make sure it is only about 3 minutes long.
• It's a great idea to make one build specifically for your application using one of our Texture Packs.
  This pretty much proves to us that you are not faking the contents of your application and also gives you some idea of how you might want to work with our available tiles on the server.
• Make sure the links you provide via are publicly viewable.
  (We have to deny many applications simply because links don't work, always get a friend to help you test your links and galleries!)
• Do not send us world files or schematics!
  We are sorry, but these are a hassle to keep track of and we do not have the time to look through your custom worlds. Show us only the best bits!

Checking Your Application Status

We know it is not fun to wait back to hear how your application went. We try to get through all of them in less than a week, but sometimes we get a bit behind. Please be patient!

After you have made an application, you can check to see if you have been accepted at the Guest Status Page.

• We do not currently send email notifications
  Your acceptance or denial will only be shown on the Guest Status Page. As we average about one hundred applications a day, and they are reviewed in the order in which they came, it may take some time for staff to get to yours. Please be patient! Most applications clear in a few days, and rarely more than a week.

• If your application was rejected, Check page for staff feedback.
  It may simply be that your application's web links didn't work, or you're not quite there yet with your build quality. It is wise to take time to improve your work and make that re-application count. The worst thing you can do is apply again within 24 hours with the same application material: Each Minecraft account has three passes through the greylist system before it is permanently disabled from submitting additional applications.

Once You've Been Accepted

"It will be important for you to have the Official Voxel Box Texture Packs installed. Guests should default to the Palceon Pack, and their title screen should look like this before they log in. It is highly suggested that as a guest one would be using the VoxelModPack. Oh, and head over to the FAQ if you have questions!"
