NOTE: New Sealth is in VERY early stages of construction, as is this page. Blank spaces will be filled in as soon as there is information to fill it with. Much of the info on this page is also preliminary, and describes things that are not yet built. Keep that in mind.

New Sealth (est. 1869) is the capital city of the Republic of Panores, and lies on the southern shore of the Isle of Panores.
New Sealth is the sister city of Kulshan.
Sunset Rail is the only metro company in Panores, and is state-owned. The company has two rail lines currently planned for Panores, which will primarily serve traffic within and between New Sealth & Kulshan, and Farm Co. Panores & South Cascade. The planned stations in New Sealth are an unnamed station in Peace Avenue, Downtown Sealth, and Outer Station in North Outer Sealth. There is also a station planned for Olympic Village, just east of New Sealth.
Peace Docks is the only international & inter-regional travel hub in New Sealth, and is managed by the state-owned Ocean Waves Inc. It features three docks, each with space for two to six boats to dock. The dock also has a small Cafe, waiting area, and Peace Arch Hotel, all of which solely serve travelers who are waiting for their boat to come arrive.
Most of the roads in New Sealth are named & paved, making it easier to get around and find what you are looking for. The roads in Downtown are laid in a simplistic pattern, with four split avenues: the tree-lined Peace Avenue, divided by three lawns and which is the only North-South split avenue; Whirlwind Avenue, which is split primarily by Whirlwind Park; Main Avenue, which is split by the Sunset Rail line; and University Street, which is split by trees & the entrance to the rail station.
Downtown Sealth is the oldest section of New Sealth, where most ships & visitors come in and out. With it's tree lined avenues, Peach Arch, Whirlwind Manor, and it's pride Lighthouse & Dock, Downtown Sealth is a first priority for visitors to Panores. Downtown is split into five main sections:
East Downtown, east of Peace Avenue, is largely centered around government, business, and travel. The northernmost block is all government buildings, including the main police station & temporary holding center, the courthouse, fire station, and more. The eastern blocks between Twilight & Capital Streets are reserved almost entirely for foreign embassies, with the exception of City Hall on Whirlwind Avenue, and Twilight Hotel on Main & Ocean Avenues. The rest of East Downtown is commercial - largely office buildings, business centers, and tourism offices. East Downtown borders Baker Village, and has access to Whirlwind Docks & Seaht Resort.
West Downtown, west of Peace Avenue, is centered around many things: trade, commerce, residential, and the arts. The majority of west downtown is taken up by Panores University, which spans two blocks across from each other on University Street. The University, which focuses on the arts, includes several dorms & learning halls, including the historic Main Hall. A small, old theater is also located on campus along Whirlwind Avenue, which usually plays student productions. The southern section of West Downtown is taken up by commercial & trade operations. Sealth Docks is the main dock for food & goods arriving to, and leaving, Panores, and many of those goods go across Ocean Avenue to the many stores & trading halls that make their home there. The famous Ocean Farmer's Market is located here, offering local goods from around Panores to the citizens, traders, sailors, and tourists in Sealth. The B.C. Washington Department Store is also located in this area, at Ocean & Main.
Finally, the far west section of downtown features many apartments & art studios, which help to give it the name 'Art District' among citizens of Sealth. The land values in the Art District have skyrocketed over the last decade due to its great living environment, views of the river & naval ships, and its proximity to everything in Downtown Sealth & Columbus, where most people in Sealth work. The fact that most artists, musicians, and actors in Panores make their home here, with the Sealth Museum next-door, has only help to further drive the prices up. The Civic System of Panores recently bought all the land in the Art District, not only giving them complete land ownership of everything in Downtown north of Main Street (with the exception of the foreign embassies), but allowing them to prevent the land from being bought out by those who wished to build massive condo & hotel buildings in the area. By controlling the land, the Civic System can allow the people & artists that live & work there to continue staying for a relatively low lease, keeping the Art District the way it is now. The Civic System also benefits with the direct returns from the leases, so they have more money for city & national projects and are able to give the artists that live there a larger tax-break for their great works. With the land in control of the government, the Art District will hopefully continue to produce great works of art.
Peace Arch & Docks
Peace Docks is one of only two ports in Panores with international passenger travel, the other being KLI in Kulshan. More information can be seen above.
Peace Arch Park is a small, grassy park at the southern tip of the New Sealth - the southernmost point on the Isle of Panores (which does not include Olympic Island). The park is a common place to rest and wait for ships coming in to harbor, and it has an unrivaled view of port activity. The most prominent feature of the park if Peace Arch itself - the massive, open gate that serves as the official entrance into New Sealth from Peace Docks. The arch was built in 1914, to commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Gentlemen, which paved the way for Panores to become a nation and set up permanent trade cooperation between Panores and the nations of Facet. Peace Arch was recently added to the National Historic Registry due to its age, beauty, and symbology, and the park is under consideration to become a National Park of Panores.
There really isn't much to say about Light Island, located at the east edge of the Columbus River Delta. The most prominent, and obvious, feature of the island is the tall lighthouse, which stands as a beacon welcoming ships up the river. The lighthouse is owned and managed by the Sealth Mariners, as the only dock that is still operational up-river is the Mariner's Small Craft & Submarine Base (SCSB). Today, the lighthouse serves more as an icon than a lighthouse thanks to that fact. The only other features of Light Island is the Radar & Satellite Center (RSC), and the east end of Light Bridge.
NOTE: Whirlwind Manor is under construction!
Whirlwind Manor is the largest building in Downtown Sealth, and the 'Anchor Build' for Downtown. Its footprint is a massive 165m x 93m, and its dome stands at 38m. It has three floors, plus four towers each with one three-story floor and three two-story floors, standing at 71m tall. The manor is a simplistic shape to allow for heavy use of Mosaic Design, utilizing the Oceanic Style. Main Hall, a 51m square room in the middle of the manor, is the most impressive aspect of the building's interior, featuring a clear view of the central dome, a massive mosaic of the Seal of Sealth, and a multistory grand staircase.
The Whirlwind Manor Estate - which includes the manor, grounds, servant's quarters & barracks, and the Wave Wall - is even more massive than the manor itself, covering nearly four times the area. The emblem of the Whirlwind Manor Estate is laid in water at the entrance to the grounds - a large, circular "W" with a wave making up the middle point.
Other Districts in New Sealth (To Be Built)
- Baker Village
- Mt. Shuksan
- Outer Sealth
For Pre-Establishment History, See Panores History
New Sealth is located on the southern shore of the Isle of Panores. New Sealth lies largely east of the Columbus River, and wraps around the southern part of the Baker Range. On the eastern border of New Sealth (specifically, Baker Village) lies Baker Bay, where the old harbor once stood. Light Island lies in the delta of the Columbus River. In between Downtown Sealth & Outer Sealth lies Mt. Shuksan, a dormant volcano which overlooks the entire city. Downtown Sealth, Columbus, and Outer Sealth all rest on the Sealth Lowlands (Downtown having been artificially flattened), while Baker Village was built upon Baker Hill.
New Sealth (and the Republic of Panores) is officially allied with Ästur & New Lynaker (in the regions of Äventyrsland & Kontinent, respectively), but always tries to keep the peace with everybody and will not go into war unless it, or an ally, is directly attacked. Due to its peaceful nature, it spends most of its efforts defending itself and its allies, not attacking the enemy directly. New Sealth was also originally aligned with Citadel City & Halcion before they both disappeared along with the rest of Pangea.
Pretty Pictures! Updated as necessary.
- New Sealth is a reconstruction of Sealth (here called Old Sealth), an incomplete city with roots in the New Grumpton era of the server.
- Much of New Sealth's (and Panores') history & dates are loosely based (or parodied) off important dates & actual history from the Pacific Northwest. Key word: loosely.
- Old Sealth was copied over from the New Grumpton map to Pangea, not long after the server became known as The Voxel Box.
- Old Sealth's position as a harbor between Citadel City & Halcion was a call-back to the old Voxel Box map, where Sealth lied just a stone's throw south of the Citadel, and just a hop, skip, & a jump west of Halcion.
- Old Sealth was very close to Sagan Observatory on the New Grumpton map. In Pangea, it was only one stop away on the S-Line.
- Due to Halcion being eaten by VoxelGod, Old Sealth was the 3rd oldest city in Pangea, after the Citadel & Cazylot.
- Old Sealth's buildings were built completely by hand, discounting minor snipes to change materials.
